So today marks the end of my time @TEAMUphallPS! P5 you have been a pleasure to teach this year🤩 Thank you so much to the families and staff for my lovely cards & gifts. I’ll be sure not to be a stranger. Looking forward to my new adventure @wlriverside_ps. Happy holidays💜
Primary 5 had a brilliant morning with Miss Connor working on a STEM challenge for our Caring World topic. We were busy planning our products to support our community and used TinkerCAD to start our 3D design process📈💻…final designs to follow✨@WL_STEM
Is it a Fact or is it an Opinion?🤔 That’s the question P5 have been busy answering. We first played a game to test our knowledge. Then worked in groups to read passages and highlight the facts and opinions before coming up with our own. Great job P5🔍⭐️
P5 spent some time this week finishing off our block on Symmetry. We were working on completing and creating symmetrical patterns with 1 or more lines of symmetry. We loved using the Numicon pegs and mirrors to be successful with this🤩📏🪞 @TEAMUphallPS
P5 loved visiting our new school library for #WorldBookDay We were extremely grateful for our P7 reading ambassadors who helped us and gave some brilliant advice/recommendations on books we could choose. We can’t wait to go back soon📖🌟 #UPSlovestoread
Inspired by @stevenbrownART, for our Famous Scots topic this week P5 designed their own ‘McCoo’s’. We used crayon and pencils and had lots of fun making these! We are very proud of the outcome🖼🌟@TEAMUphallPS
For our Famous Scots topic, Today P5 looked at James Watt and the Steam Engine. We had to match each part of the engine to its function and then apply our understanding by designing our own model. We used Lego to do this and look at our fab models🧱⭐️ @TEAMUphallPS @WL_STEM
Primary 5 have been working really hard over the last few days on lots of Famous Scots and Burns activities. Today we finished our Chuck Close inspired portrait of Robert Burns. Look at our amazing work🤩💙 @TEAMUphallPS
This week in numeracy some groups have been looking at strategies to multiply 3 and 4 digit numbers. Mr Weasley left a shopping list of treats to collect at Diagon Alley and asked us to use the adjusting method to calculate his total. Look at our fabulous work🤩🪄✖️@TEAMUphallPS
❄️ Winter Craft Project❄️ P5 were so inspired by @MissRodger1 P7s artwork last week that we had to give it a go ourselves. We used a tin foil printing technique to create these fabulous winter scenes. Great job P5🎄🤶🦌
This week in P5 we also started looking at Narrative writing! We talked about the structure and language that is used and were then tasked to write our own. Working with a partner we produced excellent stories making sure we had all 4 parts included📝🌟@TEAMUphallPS
Uphall Pizza Palace made a return to P5 yesterday🍕➗The employees used our fractions learning to correctly share the toppings required. We had a fun filled morning applying our learning🤩 @TEAMUphallPS
