Had a great morning taking 4 of our amazing year 10 students to AMSP’s Maths Feast today. They showed great teamwork and determination, coming 3rd overall, with a particular shout out for achieving full marks in the third round! Well done girls! @BSGDMaths

7DEF2 today have been looking at 3D shapes, so we started with seeing how many different examples of each they could find. There’s some excellent imaginative responses!
We’ve had stock cubes, speakers, unicorn horns, witches’ hats, malteasers, ovens, fridges, microwaves….

They also were quick to point out that cheese and cakes come into multiple categories- looks like food was the most important thought for many of them!

A Year 7 student came up this nice way of finding the Lowest Common Multiple. They weren’t sure why it worked but just they found it seemed to work. When we talked it through they realised why it worked. Nice method to come up with within the lesson!
