Using technology in the classroom just to use technology is pointless. You have to have clear goals and objectives that you want to achieve by integrating that technology into your classroom. #unietd@maggda
@Maggie_Kimm32 I agree! Interactive learning is a great way to get all students involved and excited about their own learning! Sitting at a desk listening to a teacher lecture is boring and ineffective for many students, especially at a young age.
Interactive learning motivates learners to dive deeper because they are controlling their own learning. If we give students choices, they are more likely to be engaged in their learning. #unietd
Information literacy is essential especially in today’s world. Students need to be able to differentiate fact and fiction, which can often be difficult on the internet. #unietd
Computational thinking teaches great skills that are beneficial to students. This learning doesn’t have to wait until middle or high school, it can start in Kindergarten! #unietd
Global collaboration is so important. I enjoyed learning about the Classroom Bridges resource. I will definitely be using that in my future classroom. It is a great way to build your PLN and connect your classroom to others across the world! #unietd
The pandemic forced all teachers to adapt to online/virtual instruction. Although it was difficult, we are so lucky to have the technology that we do in order to keep children learning even when they are not physically in school. #unietd
Diversity and inclusion are very important aspects of every classroom. As teachers we need to make sure all of our students feel valued and included in the classroom environment. #unietd
In this week’s lecture, I learned how to use CARP (contrast, alignment, repetition, proximity) to create an effective website that catches the eyes of my students. #unietd
A teacher’s role is to get learners to think. It is important that we as educators help our students achieve both lower-order thinking AND higher-order thinking. #unietd
Learning is not memorizing information, it is a process that leads to change. Learning is not about tests, it’s about students demonstrating their understanding of new concepts. #unietd
