Our hearts are full from all of the support across our workplaces, neighborhood, and beyond. Riley has a troop of supporters behind her! Thank you everyone for your support as we navigate Riley’s complex CCL surgery ♥️ -The Roman Family
My first year is now complete ♥️ I am very proud of all of my second graders for their accomplishments, resilience, hard work, and flexibility. They were rockstars through all of the changes this year!
@missalexterry Wonderful news! I student taught in Montgomery and have done a leave replacement with them. Please feel welcome to reach out for anything! You will love the experience!
My students had the opportunity to practice their subtraction skills and word work skills through board games this week. They LOVED it! I love that they are communicating and supporting each other when their answers are different. I’m so proud of them!
I was brought to tears yesterday morning by my entire crew. I received a class gift and a virtual card from them. When I open the card, I am met with pages upon pages of pictures of and messages from each student. ❤️ I am so lucky to have them!
Beyond teaching, a goal of mine is to foster. While I am not in a place to foster children and animals yet, I am eager to open my heart to my new sponsor pups Kayne and Ryla and my Operation Santa family! ❤️
This week my students had the opportunity to play a silent -e board game, science tic tac toe, and math connect four. I’m so happy to see them smiling, laughing, and sharing their thoughts on all of the subjects! It may be virtual, but these connections are so important.
It’s tough right now.
We are showing up imperfectly, but we are showing up.
We are feeling ineffective, but we are learning and trying.
We are insecure and uncertain, but we care deeply.
My hope for all educators this weekend is that you rest and feel how deeply you matter.
My students were amazing today through hybrid learning, and I am reflecting on changing our schedule to meet the needs of everyone. We will find a new normal, and we will get through this. Reflection is extremely important right now.
Tomorrow I will meet my second grade families, and I am excited for every moment! While it will be a short half hour, I will be reading my first read aloud to them. I’ve chosen “Be You!”
