Fourth Graders got to tour the AT&T Center learning all about the different career opportunities and the ins and outs of this organization π Thank you Spurs for this opportunity! @NISDGlass@spurs
We hire teachers for their strengths, not their weaknesses.
However, too often teachers are hired for strengths but then managed for weaknesses.
Effective leaders focus more on developing strengths than focusing on weaknesses. Itβs their strengths that make teachers amazing!
Effective leaders like assertive teachers and help focus on developing their strengths and confidence. Ineffective leaders don't like assertive teachers and focuses on their weaknesses to keep their confidence low. Be the effective leader.
How does setting impact the plot of a story? Students worked on changing the setting of Paul Bunyan and exploring the new plot of this traditional literature tale. Flipgrids coming for our revamped Tall Tale π₯³ @NISDGlass

Real learning loss is:
- students not having a teacher because they resigned.
- students having teachers who are burnt out.
- students having teachers who are struggling to survive so they have to work another job.
- students not having the resources that they need.
Teachers who are passionate, on the ball, sometimes outspoken and have high expectations in the classroom, also have the same expectations of their leaders. Effective leaders embrace these staff members who help create a dynamic high performing culture.
For those wondering, teachers may get a break from teaching their classes in the summer, but many still work. They attend workshops, develop or implement new curriculum, serve on committees & many other duties for which they receive little or no pay or pay out of their own pocket
