The night before the big day… 😬
Going from head of Y10 last year to KS4 lead tomorrow with my new Y10’s returning. ( My school is transitioning from heads of years for each year group to Y7, KS3 & KS4 team this year)…
Sitting reflecting on a fabulous inset day, looking at different leadership styles and then moving onto writing an impact statement on my year group! 🤓#BackToWork
Can someone read this and explain why OFSTED are blaming the school/teachers/teaching for attendance issues here? This inspector comment made me laugh: "Some teachers did not routinely address the subsequent gaps in their knowledge... these pupils can struggle to access the new learning that is being taught" - er yeah, have you ever taught classes where loads of students are continually absent/in/out!? https://t.co/PtY4mwQySh

Teachers who fight for children to get places in Special Education/Alternative Provision don't do it because they want to 'get rid' or 'ship them out'. They do it because they care for them, and want them to thrive in a setting that's designed to best cater for their needs.
