That is, what is an anthropology of institutions? How are marginalized people visible in the historical record and today? What challenges remain regarding social welfare? Learning about the 271 individuals buried in the #poorhouse #cemetery on site was deeply moving.

Students from @UTM #Anthropology405: #Institutions and Confinement travelled to the @WellingtonCounty #Museum and #Archives to learn about the oldest remaining rural House of Industry in Canada! This fieldtrip gave us the chance to apply what we've been discussing in seminar.
