Fellow 1 pen 1 dice fans:
I highly recommend using these fluffy dice (originally car decor) instead of plastic ones. I trialled it to reduce noise for ASN pupils but will be keeping it for my own sanity 🤣
01/12 so I had to try this snowball activity I'd seen @MrMWishart @MissRaffertyML share. Adapted for T&T. They wrote down as many destinations and trends as they could remember before scrunching them up, throwing them and racing to fill in their tables. Brilliant retrieval task.
My fab T&T class have made three sets of Pairs cards for UK, European and wider world tourist destinations. A great activity for them to remember what the attractions look like and their purpose. Would be happy to share with anyone who can use them. 🥰
1T1 loved the ‘Snowball Translation’ activity today to consolidate knowledge of what they like to do in their free time! They did seem to enjoy throwing their ‘snowballs’ at me to begin a little too much…🇪🇸 #ambees
(thanks @MissRaffertyML for idea, saw this on my TL from you)
Anyone know if it's okay to mix and match N4 units? To do a Reading from one and the talking from another packet? Or do they both have to be from the same one?
My faculty's focus lately has been modelling and scaffolding & this S2 French lesson revising regular ER verbs is testimony to their value. Modelling an example on the visualiser, chunking the learning into 6 boxes, providing cues for recall. Some outstanding results.
Revising verbs with this powerful, no tech activity! Step 1: fold and write French on LHS. Step 2: look up English in dictionary and write on RHS. Step 3: open RHS flap and test memory by rewriting w/out looking. Step 4: open LHS flap and translate back to the French.
In Feb I found a string of these Ukrainian crocheted hearts around a post box with a note encouraging people to take one in solidarity & it's been displayed in my class since. Today one of my wonderful PSAs came in with a rainbow she'd crocheted for me to add to my collection! 🥰
Travel & Tourism trip to @LandmarkParkUK today! It was great for students to see excellent customer service in action and experience a local industry for themselves. Not sure who had the most fun, staff or students! 🤣
Today's reminder is never to underestimate the allure of the humble praise sticker. Outstanding work in record time from some students who are often difficult to engage. Sometimes it really is the small things that make a big difference!
