@KendraStrickler @KCapLiteracy Ooh I might consider joining! That book sounds interesting! Where is the best (cheapest/fastest) place to get the book? Amazon?
Want students to remember something? Ask them to draw it! Research shows that drawing boosts learning by forcing us to process information in multiple ways: visually, kinesthetically, and linguistically.
Thank you @KCapLiteracy for facilitating the #ECTEACHES chats! It has been great to hear what other teachers are doing in their classrooms and to take away strategies and tips to try.
@KendraStrickler Well said Kendra! I agree, it is really important to recognize that engagement can look different for each student. We need to think about varying our engagement strategies to be able to reach students in ways that work for them! #ECTEACHES
@weigle_samantha I like how you mentioned being willing to take risks! For some students, just raising their hand to answer a question might feel like a risk. If they feel comfortable and safe around their peers, they will be more likely to take those small risks.
A2: During my student teaching, I used Nearpod to teach health lessons. I loved that students could interact within the presentation, answer ?s, and take polls! Anyway we can incorporate tech to access content, students are hooked! #ECTEACHES
A5: When students feel comfortable in the classroom and relationships have been built among students and with the teacher, students will feel more motivated to participate and engage in lessons/convos #ECTEACHES
A4: Launch is a great book for ideas to boost student creativity! When students have freedom to be creative, they will be more likely to engage in the content. #ECTEACHES
@KCapLiteracy In my LTS STEM position, everything was project based. Students built gravity cars with limited materials or built a safety seat for humpty dumpty to stay safe on his wall. They were always excited to come to class and get building!
A1: I encourage student engagement by providing movement activities, such as answering T/F ?s by putting hands on hips or on head. I also try to plan PBL projects when possible. #ECTEACHES

Students from @cbmtaylorโs third grade class built their own LEGO creations in QUEST today. One group built and coded their own airplane! #CBGroveland#cbinnovate
@CB_JFlanagan @Logitech The logitech crayon is awesome! I'd love to come see how you and your students are using it. Let me know if you'd like an extra set of hands as you work on your narratives!
This third grade class got to test out the new Lux Blox that recently arrived at @CBGrovelandEl! Students were so creative and enjoyed working collaboratively to bring their ideas to life. #CBGroveland#cbinnovate
