A big thank you to my brother-in-law, Mr. McLean, an Air Canada pilot, for coming in to talk to our Grade 6s about the principles of flight and providing a glimpse into the life of a pilot. We learned so much this afternoon and were very engaged! @StGregoryHCDSB

We are initiating “reading buddies” each Friday, to promote being a collaborative contributor and taking on a leadership role. The Grade 1’s love their role models! @StGregoryHCDSB

We had such a fun filled day at QE Cultural Centre making mugs and structures in two workshops. It was so nice to see students helping one another out during hurdles in their projects. Team work makes the dream work! @StGregoryHCDSB

Calculating the mean, median, mode and range of a data set in an engaging way, using Skittles! Each group counted how many they had of each colour to determine their data set. Then, they had a little too much fun eating their data afterwards.. 😛 @StGregoryHCDSB

In our Review writing unit, we got our bodies moving as we had an accountable talk about our opinions on questions such as “do you like sushi?” with value lines yes/neutral/no. When asked if they liked Miss Ferguson as a teacher, the results were unanimous 🙊😁 @StGregoryHCDSB

All smiles as L won our monthly “Gotcha” raffle for the second time since September! He’s the proud winner of a Tim Card and a Gotcha Bin prize (they only had “happy birthday” cards left.. 😂). Congratulations kiddo! @StGregoryHCDSB

Today we coloured and cut out our own personal fraction rods to use and keep throughout our fractions unit. Then, we used them to compare fractions and find equivalent fractions! @StGregoryHCDSB

In gym, we used our target and cooperative skills in a game of BeanBag Bocce, where students worked in teams to get their team’s coloured beanbag closest to the middle pylon. @StGregoryHCDSB

We studied for our upcoming social studies quiz by playing a game of Kahoot. Engaging our minds in a fun way! @StGregoryHCDSB

Today we played Foosball tag, where students had to navigate through taggers on lines to get to the other side. Great strategy and skill were evident today! @StGregoryHCDSB
