Yesterday I survived my first Yr 6 moderation and it was so positive and they were so lovely about me as a Yr 6 teacher! Stress was unnecessary and I can breathe easy now it’s done ✅ time to focus on getting them performance ready 🤞🤞
been really struggling with how I feel about myself as a teacher and worrying, when the kids are bubbling and showing tricky behaviour, that I’m not doing enough. My mentor observed me today and it was so positive and reminded me why I do what I do✨
my class organised, during their lunchtime, to collective sing happy birthday to me as I opened the door to let them in from lunch- the SWEETEST little gesture really went such a long way❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm a healthy 24 year old and I just feel permanently exhausted during the working week. I get home and basically collapse. HOW do you super men and women get home after a full day teaching and take care of a family because I can barely take care of myself 😂😂😂😂
“Even though we don’t listen sometimes…” At least they’re honest about it! So many notes like this today and my heart is sad to be leaving my lovelies at the end of the week💔
this week I said farewell to my little year 1s for AKS with a beach trip, met my class for next year, took part in quiz competition (absolutely tanked it😂) AND spent this evening paddle boarding - how is first year almost done?! #itsbeenablast#teachfirst#teachertrainee
How mad is it that my Teach First journey started a year ago with SI!
Super proud and a little emotional about what a journey it has been 🥰 5 weeks to go 🥂
@emma_tf2021 Become a sponge! They give you so much it’s impossible to retain it all immediately. Take notes and it will all fall into place when you’re in the classroom! Also, enjoy it! TF is a brilliant experience but make sure you take time for you too!
@BethBishton The 5 SI weeks will fly by so enjoy it! I’m fact, that applies to the whole year - it’s an incredible experience and the SW team are so fantastic and supportive! X
#edutwitter what are you top hints and tips for teaching Year 6? Completing my training year in Year 5 but moving up next year. Both apprehensive and excited 😰🤗
nearly made it through teacher training in a pandemic without a sick day... This morning I had two days to make sure I had gathered all evidence from school before half term and have had to stay home and get a COVID test. Not ideal😩🤧
Sometimes, as a primary teacher, you will not see the benefit of your work; your life will not become easier. But you hope that you have planted a seed, done something they hold on to, said something they remember, that in the future will help them fulfil themselves.
