“Someone once told her that the stars were merely sewing pins, holding the black sky up so that it did not come down on the world and suffocate it.” — Alma Katsu, “The Deep”
A homeless man has captured the attention of thousands, not for begging, but for the way he rocks his dog to sleep every night. When asked why, he explained that life hadn’t always been this way. “When I first got him, we had an apartment,” he said softly. “Living on the street has been a hard adjustment for him. The honking, the sirens, the people, it keeps him up. So every night, I make sure he’s asleep before I close my eyes.” #dog #wholesome #dogs #doglover
It's interesting to me that Gen Z doesn't drink, smoke, party, take risks, and seem excessively concerned with mental health yet also look old, have anxiety and depression, and seem to suffer a myriad of health problems few to no one did in my generation.
Meanwhile, when Gen X drank, smoked, partied, did drugs, did all sorts of insanely risky things, knew nothing of "mental health," absolutely did not take care of our health in general, and are now apparently doing fine and good?
By all accounts I should be dead or at very least look like hell, yet most people seem to think I'm in my 30s and I feel very happy and healthy 💁♀️
(And yes, the purpose of this post is to say that Gen X was the best generation and the youngs are doing it wrong.)
