My heart is bleeding today.

I am at Rurii Polling Centre in Ol Kalou, and I have just witnessed something I will never forget.

A sick elderly man insisted on voting before going back to the hospital.

He could not even afford transport.

His children & neighbors carried him to the polling station because he was too weak to walk.

After casting his vote, they are now carrying him back.

This level of commitment to democracy has deeply moved me.

The determination, sacrifice, and sense of civic duty I have witnessed here is overwhelming.

@jumaf3 On a different, but slightly similar, concept, there is a Sacco called 'Promitto Sacco' that provides 70% financing and constructs for you the house on your own plot. The catch here is you must have your own plot. But with most folks owning land, nowadays, it's been taken up.

@jumaf3 Howbeit the deposit being slightly high compared to the 100k, it's reasonable for people not willing to take a mortgage that you may pay UpTo 25 years.
They have 3 standard designs that you can choose from.
2 Bedroom @ 2.6M. Pay 780k as deposit, and pay 35,581 p.m for 6 years.
