I enjoy being on my own, but no one actually talks about how us teachers go from social butterflies, interacting left, right and centre to being almost completely alone for weeks. It’s a lot. We need to support each other- especially those who don’t enjoy being alone so much🫶🏼
I am finally starting to feel like I am thriving as an ECT. My confidence has grown this half term, I feel settled and part of the team.
I am so grateful to work in a school that believes in my potential so much. I will hold on to this feeling.

@wholesomeson @MrTs_NQTs I wear my docs! I have Mary Jane style for winter and sandals for summer! Very comfortable and supportive for me. (Sandals depend on your school though!)
@wholesomeson @MrTs_NQTs Research/ read about behaviour management and how to build relationship. Found this key for placements (and still now) when stepping into the classroom as it sets the tone and creates your teacher presence straight away.
@MissHudsonHist For something different to do and I’m teaching myself how to knit to make a cardigan for my friends baby. (Even if it might look a bit funny 😅) I’ve baked some Easter cookies and given some to my neighbour.
@MissHudsonHist You are not alone feeling this way. Ive had the last week off due to Covid and now my partner has Covid so we have had to cancel visiting family and friends. There is only so many books you can read, shows you can watch, walks you can go on. Ive ordered a kit from Sculpd
@MissPrimary97 @MrTs_NQTs I am non catholic! Have loved working in a Catholic school over the last year. As long as you can explain how you will promote Catholic values and the school’s ethos you should definitely apply. Being open to participate in mass/services and prayer is important as well. Xx
10 things every teacher should know. 🧵
1) You make a difference. Every day. Even when it doesn’t feel like you do, you do. People appreciate you and your work and you are changing lives.
Just changing one is enough for a career, but the likelihood is we change many more.
Year 3 have loved their geography topic of ‘Regions and Mountains in the U.K’ this half term! They have brushed up on their mapping skills and done a fantastic job researching the highest peaks! #wearegeographers#osmapping#digimaps
