Due to inclement weather conditions, all PDSB schools and buildings are closed today. All buses are cancelled. Closure of all schools means cancellation of all activities in schools, including childcare, night school and permits. NO CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN PERSON OR ONLINE.
Today and every day, we pay tribute and remember those who have fought for our peace and freedom. We will forever be grateful for their service and sacrifices. #PeelRemembers

Today on International Inuit Day, we acknowledge and celebrate Inuit culture and contributions, but most importantly, we affirm the voices of Inuit across the world and honour the Arctic and those who call it home.
On the outside, students wrote down characteristics of these schools and what they were like. On the inside, they used words like “strong” and “resilient” to describe the children who attended. We are looking forward to continuing this conversation throughout the school year. 2/2
#OrangeShirtDay 🧡 activity from yesterday with my grade 4s. We have been talking a lot about the residential school system and its lasting impact on survivors and their families. 1/2

As part of our unit of inquiry on World Cultures, our class had a meaningful discussion this afternoon about stereotypes. The Ss recorded their thoughts, statements and wonderings on the pink and green sheets of paper, and then we came together to consolidate our ideas.
I had the pleasure of being one of Dr. Pyle’s students during my time in the MA CSE program at OISE. She is so deserving of this award! Congratulations!

Here’s my advice as a tech coach:
Stop. Trying. All. The. Things.
And if anyone makes you feel otherwise, stop taking advice from them.
Focus on pedagogy and the student experience.
The tools are going to change tomorrow. Good pedagogy won’t.
