At this point books like CROWN get banned somewhere every week, but there's something especially sinister about using "obscenity" as the language to describe a queer Black girl just........ existing. I'm really sad, ngl. But they want us to be silent and ashamed. I refuse.

Found out my book is under investigation by the Oklahoma Attorney General for being "obscene." So if you think less curse words or kissing or references to drinking or drugs are going to keep queer books from being banned, they won't. To them, obscenity is inherent to queerness.
