Really disappointed by our experience flying @Aeromexico with our newborn and my elderly in-laws.
We hadn’t pre-booked our newborn’s lap infant ticket (I admit our bad, it’s our 1st time flying with a baby and we didn’t know we needed to). It should have been a simple fix. Instead we spent 90+ minutes being sent desk to desk, with five employees, including a supervisor, telling us there was “nothing they could do” as departure got closer. Over an hour in, someone finally mentioned a different desk across the airport, where a few kind employees got it done right before we missed our flight.
We made the gate as boarding was ending. Then I was pulled for extra screening, leaving my girlfriend alone with the baby, bags, and stroller. Nobody at the gate told us the stroller needed to be checked, so we carried it onto the plane. Luckily a few very kind fellow passengers stepped in to help, and it meant so much after how most of the staff had treated us.
The hardest part wasn’t the delays or the mistakes. It was the lack of basic humanity from almost everyone we dealt with. Nobody seemed to care whether a family made their flight.
What’s more, the way they treated my mother-in-law left her boarding the plane in tears.
What should have been an exciting milestone became one of our most stressful travel days. I hope @Aeromexico does better for families in the future.
@Nyktharas Haha I’ve actually been SLACKING! I was on vacation for 2 months in the summer and didn’t go to the gym consistently 😭 Hope all is well with you!!
