@emmagraeauthor It is! I made sure to only share the ones where they hadn't written their name (I did say "name on back" but there's always a few that don't listen)
Today I started reading The Hoolet Thit Couldnae Fly by @emmagraeauthor to my Primary Twa class and they are loving it!
After reading the first chapter, they all had a turn drawing their own front covers. I'm so impressed with their owl drawings!
@emmagraeauthor@LuathPress Just finished reading this to my class today!
They loved it, and the main question they all had was "Does she have any more books we can read?"
I'm absolutely delighted to have found out I was successful at my interview on Wednesday and will now have a full-time, temporary contract for the rest of the year.
Goodbye supply!
The best part about having taught almost every class in the school now is that today as everybody went to assembly I had multiple kids stop and tell me how much they loved my new dress.
New term and I'm back on supply at the school I was at before summer. It's been lovely to see so many faces I recognise.
My old P4 class were so excited to see me that they immediately swarmed me and almost knocked me over!
One of my kids was very excited to show me what he wrote with the chalk at playtime.
It's really nice having my own class again, even if it's just for a term!
Just said goodbye to the loveliest P2 class today. Had them for 6 weeks and they were such a delight!
I don't know what class I'll have after Easter, which means I can relax and enjoy the holidays!
Just finished three weeks supply at the school I was at for my very first placement. Was lovely to see some familiar faces, although the P1s (now P3!) that I saw didn't remember me at all.
Just did my very first day on Supply today with a lovely class. In a weird coincidence, the exact class I taught was the class that one of my students from my probationer year used to be in before she moved!
I can't believe that's my probation year finished already! I was so incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic school and I'm going to miss both the staff and students so much!
Now time to curl up with a book or two and feast upon all this chocolate!
On Monday we came up with words to describe everybody in the class, then today we used those and added more of our own to make some lovely word art.
The fast finishers got to do it for teachers and I'm absolutely delighted by mine! I'll miss this class so much!
Had a lovely time yesterday chatting with @DrSueChapman and lots of other fantastic people to answer questions about the probation year for current students at #UoEPGDEp
Hope it's helpful and helps reduce anxiety about next year!
Have officially submitted my final probationer profile to GTCS! Can't believe how much I've grown and learned over the past year, and how much more confident I am in my teaching skills.
Now to enjoy the last two months!
Today in class we were learning about respecting other points of view and disagreeing respectfully.
So of course we had to have the "doors" Vs "wheels" discussion and had some excellent reasons for both.
When they got their vouchers, they were outraged to find out that I don't get a free book too. I had to reassure them that I have lots of books and use the library all the time so don't need one.
I absolutely love how our door display turned out for World Book Day! Raindrops of students favourite books, sunflowers from our reading targets and some lovely quotes about how they feel about books.
Did a lesson on fact vs opinion today, where students had to write down examples of facts and opinions. Two separate students both wrote "Miss Moir is the best teacher" as one of their opinions. They're so sweet!
Just had probationer training today on job application and interview skills, and still can't quite believe that I'm almost at the point to start applying for jobs. Time has just flown by so quickly!
