Suddenly "hate speech" is bad. Suddenly "dehumanizing" people is bad. Suddenly "cancel culture" is good. Suddenly words have consequences.
The modern American right in 2025, folks.
This summer I've been working on bringing video games into my classroom, in a way that can be engaging and inspire critical- and creative-thinking, across the board.
I've been making worksheets for those games, which I'm excited to use soon! So far I have 4 finished packets.

I want to show non-traditional artforms, not just galleries/novels, so Ss learn that anyone can create art/beauty. I'd also like to inspire them to critically examine media they consume, even when it is "just a video game." As the above games fit the curriculum, it's a great fit!
@twofalls I read that you'd like to see Two Falls in classrooms, especially for Indigenous kids, so I wanted to say that I intend to use it this year (and beyond), having played it recently.
I'd like to make work packets about the story and codex. Can you help with that at all?
The annihilation of the NDP is absolutely not the death of the Left in Canada, as some are suggesting. It could clear a path for a rebirth of the Left in Canada.
It is a real shame that the platform ive spent years on doing jokes & sharing work & getting opportunities & meeting loved ones & having my worldview expanded by others is ending in a fire of fucking cringe nerds and Nazis and loser dipshits. It started my career & now it sucks
I cant think of a bigger insult to Holocaust victims and those who died fighting fascism than comparing the Holocaust to what happened in Amsterdam to Israeli soccer hooligans after they incited violence by shouting genocidal chants and tore down Palaestinian flags.
As a teacher I think other teachers should know that if you’re voting for the party that wants to destroy public education, deny free lunch to kids that need it, and force literal children to give birth, you should get a different job. You’re not qualified.
After this nasty election cycle, the last thing British Columbians want to hear is a promise to put us through it all over again ASAP 😮
First - thinking about all the people around the Lower Mainland who are bailing out this morning. What a wild weather day! Hope the damage is minimal and the losses not too bad.
Second - the votes are in, the polls are closed. There’s recounting to be done, but what the people of B.C. really need now is a government that finds a way to work together for the people, not for their own thirst for power.
@JohnRustad4BC’s vow to make things as difficult as possible for the NDP to govern and bring them down ASAP was incredibly disrespectful to B.C. voters who made their wishes known yesterday.
I don’t think I’m alone in saying I’ve had enough of the hate, misinformation and divisiveness of this election cycle. We need a break. We want to see you work with what the voters gave you to govern this province appropriately.

If the BC NDP end up having to make a deal with the @BCGreens to hold power, the Greens *must* make proportional representation an absolutely non-negotiable condition of the CASA agreement.
Tonight was just another demonstration of the absurdity of FPTP. @JValeriote74#bcpoli
