Does anyone listen to a song that they had on a CD as a kid that used to skip at a certain point, and instinctively tense up when that part of the song comes up, expecting it to skip but it doesn't?
@JulieSLalonde Not to mention how they rubbed the back of your ankle raw so you had to put band-aids on anytime you wore them. You could always see the band-aids too because we were always wearing cropped leggings under dresses or denim mini skirts so there was nothing to cover them up. ๐
@MarlowNYC I was both a huge metal head and a massive neighbours fan as a teenager in the 2000's, it's not like they're mutually exclusive. I don't see why Cate thinks Margot liking metal is weird, and her stereotypes about monster trucks are not at all accurate or helpful.
@JacdenHouting@Qantas@LinguisticAut Unfortunately wearing the lanyard doesn't really do much. The staff I dealt with either didn't notice I was wearing it, didn't know what it meant, or got angry when I explained what it was. "You will sit down and wait until your number is called to board just like everyone else!"
@BlondeHistorian I've unfortunately had this experience too. Had some drunk guy come up to my boy in a pub and start patting him without even asking. when I politely asked him to stop, he just kept patting him and started baby talking to him. He finished with "you don't have COVID, do you doggy!"
@sophdoeslife There's no need to apologize, that's just sometimes how things go! You can't control when sponsorship opportunities come up, and they're an important part of your channel! You work so hard and deserve all opportunities that come your way. โค๏ธ
@ArnaAlayne Agreed! Her quick response to locking down with only one case made a huge difference to numbers, you only get one chance with Delta. If only NSW had done the same, then you guys wouldn't have ended up in this mess! Gladys really went global this year. ๐
@ChronicTami And the realisation that most people have fond memories of their childhood. They get all nostalgic when they see something that reminds them of their childhood, but I can't remember most of mine (thanks DID,) or if I do remember then it's ComplexPTSD flashbacks and dissociation.
@jojoandspoons This. My autistic brain always goes: "You have an appointment in 5 hours, which means that there's no time to do anything else beforehand because you'll be late for said appointment if you do. Let's just sit down and do nothing but wait and stress until it's finally over." ๐ตโ๐ซ
@lolacoaster When I need to take an extra anxiety pill they either just take my anxiety away or make me so amped up that I do way too much and bring on a migraine. It's like "do I want anxiety that paralyzes me so much that I can't move, or do I want amped with a side of migraine?" ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Yep. I always think about what I could have done/achieved if I hadn't experienced childhood abuse/trauma. I'm not stronger for what I've been through, I've just somehow managed to survive after 2 years of shit as a kid. I'm not 'amazing,' my alters and DID are for saving me.
@BlondeHistorian@GuideDogAva I had a similar thing happen in a supermarket. Some kids saw my assistance dog and got really excited. The mum said "now kids, look at that dog, he's a special assistance dog. See his coat? We must remember not to talk to him while he's working, he's doing jobs to help his owner.
@tadpole_racer @Susan29191404@bonnieallan72@VicGovDH And what about those of us who eat healthy and work out regularly but have pre-existing health conditions that have nothing to do with being unhealthy/lazy? I'm vaccinated, but there are plenty out there who can't because of health reasons that don't equate to laziness.
@ArnaAlayne So glad to see swift action from your government, fingers crossed you guys don't have to stay in lockdown to long! The Prime Minister of NSW over here doesn't seem to take it as seriously as New Zealand does, but at least we have a competent state government. (Go Vic.โ๐)
@briannasbell I had that happen too. I went in while mum was parking the car, but she never came in, so I just went through the appointment alone. Once I'd finished I found mum sitting outside. They'd told her she couldn't come in but that she could "sit on the porch outside and wait." ๐
@sophdoeslife Also, I went through the horror of early/mid 2000's braces (had to wear them for 2 1/2 years, lots of metal wire cutting into gums etc,) so I try to always wear my retainers. There's no way I'm letting all that pain go to waste and I sure as hell don't want to need new braces.๐
@sophdoeslife I've finally booked in to get some new retainers made, I'm still wearing my ones from late high school, they'd have to be at least 11 years old. ๐ I give mine a clean with my toothbrush when I wear them, and I'm so terrified they'll snap in half, ones got several holes in it. ๐
@briannasbell That's just ridiculous. Did they not book in your second when you had your first? That's how they organised mine, but I guess every place/state is different.
