Her name is Esther Wairimu Keige. She is a senior legal officer at Kenya Forest Service HQ, Kiambu Road where she has served for over 10 years. On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, when she arrived home from work, she told her family that she was feeling uneasy after being asked to sign certain documents in the office. The following day, Wednesday 10th June 2026, Esther reported to work at around 10a.m where worked until around 2 p.m. before leaving for her home in Juja. But upon reaching Juja town, Esther mysteriously disappeared shortly after alighting from the vehicle she travelled in. Yesterday, Esther's decomposing body was found in a forest in Gatundu. FROM MY DM 🛑 "JUSTICE FOR KABUI 🙏 [ share widely 🙏] It's a sad story from Mang’u shopping centre. A young, good-hearted man by the name of Kabui was a fruit vendor and a law-abiding citizen. To earn his daily bread, he worked as a steward riding a nduthi vending fruits. On his usual daily routine in Thika Town, police arrested the motorbike he was riding and impounded it at the station. Stranded, Kabui went back home without the motorbike. Later, the owner called him, asking why he had not reported for work — something very unusual for Kabui. With a trembling voice, Kabui broke the news: the motorbike had been seized by police in Thika. Instead of listening, the owner got furious. He accused Kabui of lying, accusing him of selling the motorbike and swindling him. He then mobilized 10 men from Mang’u Shopping Centre. They stormed Kabui’s home in Kwa Msafiri and clobbered him with crude weapons. All he had done was try to earn an honest living. Even while in pain, Kabui kept pleading with his innocence. He asked them to take him to the police station to confirm his story. At Thika Police Station, the truth came out. The motorbike had truly been impounded by police. Kabui was telling the truth all along. But it was too late. Kabui was already badly hurt. He had internal organ damage and internal bleeding that no one could see. On the 3rd day, his condition worsened. As he was being rushed to the hospital, Kabui succumbed to the injuries sustained The men who attacked innocent Kabui went into hiding the moment they heard the news. Kabui did not deserve to die like this. He deserved to come home safely to his family.
