On the corner dealing Hope, a Missionary, and couldn’t be more honored to be chosen for that! CrossWinds, Plant616, Godwin, Lee, Westside ends of the earth…
Before the start of the World Cup:
1- Iraqi player Aymen Hussein was detained at the airport for 7 hours.
2- Japan national team complained that the stadium pitches were unsuitable for play.
3- The Iranian Football Federation has condemned, in an official statement, the United States’ refusal to grant entry visas to a number of Iranian officials ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup
4- Some national teams, including Norway, complained about the extremely high temperatures.
5- It is expected that a large number of matches may be suspended due weather conditions.
We are likely to witness many negative issues and failures because the United States is not a suitable country for football or for hosting major international tournaments.
This comes up all the time but rarely gets a full retort, here are a few of the flaws in the argument:
1. World class athletes play the sport already. Athletes just as good at *what they do* as the athletes mentioned.
2. If the “best athletes” played soccer from a young age, they would develop far differently and likely be unrecognizable on a field. As a thought experiment, ask what would happen if Randy Moss instead played QB from a young age.
3. Most of the time, the athletic profiles used as examples are the same: big, high top end speed (measured by 40 yard dash), high vertical jump. All those things are good but have a far more limited application on a soccer field than in basketball or American football.
4. Physical profiles do not guarantee success in soccer. In fact, over reliance on physical profiles in the youth game are part of the reason that the US is actually bad at soccer in the first place.
If you ever wonder how we elected a moron president i would point you to completely non-sensical actions like this…Actions have reactions, and Trumpism was largely a reaction to crazy people by crazy people.
New York lawmakers pass bill to replace traditional terms like "mother" and "father" with gender-neutral alternatives, such as "gestating" and "non-gestating" parent.
@RichOToole We have a mattress store that sells really nice mattresses directly across from our church which is sort of in the hood…none of us could afford their mattress…but also i’ve never seen anyone else there either.
@lukedsimmons@griffingulledge I don’t have a problem with a flag if it’s a representation of a people group and not a government…I also wouldn’t pray for memorial day in church, I don’t think it’s sinful, it’s just not what we are about in worship. I have prayed for veterans day at city events…
Unbridled greed is why we have 9 dollar big macs…Chili’s has full value meals for 10.99 and it comes with an appetizer…Speedway sells large cokes for 59 cents… @McDonald’s thinks we are too dumb to stop paying their insane prices for their very average food…
@kim_siever Still too high, high min wage is why we have 9 dollar big Mac’s getting 15 an hour to flip a burger is insane. These are ment for kids to work not a stable income for anyone. Part time jobs not to support a family
Complete rubbish.
3 of the 4 gospels were firsthand eyewitnesses
Luke wrote his book based on his own investigation and interviews of eyewitnesses for the sake of the Greeks
Jesus appeared to more than 500 people after his resurrection over 50 days.
One quarter into the NBA Finals, Jalen Brunson is affirming the concerns people have about small guards being able to win it all.
The closer you get. The more physical it gets. So far, Brunson’s body is betraying him.
