Our discussion focused on key agricultural issues such as irrigation, improved seeds, fertiliser use and strengthening local seed systems to increase food security and household incomes.
On livestock, I informed them that in the past cattle moved long distances in search of water and pasture, which made disease control difficult. I requested support for research on animal feeds to address the challenges farmers are facing today.
I welcome their partnership.

With a population of over 45.9 million and access to a combined market of more than 600 million people across Africa, Uganda presents significant opportunities across priority sectors including agro-industrialisation, tourism, minerals, manufacturing, and science and technology innovation.
Government continues to strengthen the enabling environment through investor-focused policies, tax incentives, and the One Stop Centre, which brings together key government agencies to streamline business registration, licensing, and operational processes.
