The 1st-known school for black children in Missouri opened up in 1897 in DeSoto. It was named after famous black attorney John Mercer Langston, who rose from a childhood of slavery to achieve national prominence. #BlackHistoryMonth 1/4

@chatwithstumac I think this would be an amazing idea! It could also have a exhibit on the the Douglas school located in Herculaneum and it could also look at the civil rights movement in Missouri! I would totally help invest in the property! Maybe we should try raising money.
