@TyDButler with all the "gather" rules and euro-stepping, players are already taking 5-8 steps to the basket as it is, eliminating a charge rule would just have players running straight to the basket unimpeded after every pick/screen. lol. who wants that?

@TyDButler just giving yourself up as a sacrifice is not the most esthetically pleasing action. and there are a LOT of flops involved in taking a charge in today's NBA. I worry that it'll go too far the other way if you eliminate charges as the refs wont enforce the offensive fouls

@TyDButler my issue with the "no charge" proposal: so on offense, players can block the path of defenders with picks and screens but defenders can't block the path of players trying to score? if one is allowed, shouldn't the other. refs need to do a better job of enforcing rules.
