New link road - Savoy Street – opens as part of #ConnectingLeicester this Sun (11 Oct) reducing bus journey times and easing congestion. Also showcasing #Leicester’s past with some great artwork!
2/2 Savoy Street will run close to the site of the former cinema that opened on Belgrave Gate in 1937. Originally called The Savoy Theatre, you might have later known it as the ABC or MGM cinema.
It closed in 1997 but fab to see the local history brought to life in this piece.
