Some of the people on this charge were arrested over a year ago. Olivia Lutaaya who was the last to be added after the police first said they had arrested her for something related to distraction of property, was added almost 8 months ago. but there has never been a single hearing of this case. This time it was adjourned to a Saturday!!

We checked on our comrades Olivia Lutaaya, Sauda Madaada, Kaija Doreen, as well as Madinah Namaganda and Hannifah Nakibuuka (charged alongside Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi) at Luzira Women's Prison. We also checked on the head of @NUP_Ug institutions, Akiso Benjamin, who remains in detention for engaging in a peaceful demonstration. "Courage over fear" was the message Doreen Kaija requested us to share with all. A big THANK YOU to all who check on them, support their families and continue to push for their freedom.

Any reflective person with considerable power will tell you that one of the most dangerous positions you can put yourself in as a leader is to surround yourself with opportunists, small-brained praise singers and people who fear you. They will literally clap for you as you jump off a cliff. They will fight off any well intentioned critic and reserve you to their cultish company, where you will be effectively surrounded by choruses of opportunistic adoration and echoes of nice sounding idiocy. It’s worse when you also can’t discern much on your own. One of the reasons Mr Museveni succeeded in his earlier struggles, is the kind of people he surrounded himself with.
