My Crypto Journey: Lessons I Learned From Bull and Bear Markets
Let me tell you why I'm here and why I keep writing.
I came into crypto in 2021, right at the top of the bull market. No plan. No research. Just excitement and the belief that easy money was waiting for me.
I didn't even know how to read a candlestick chart.
A friend introduced me to a trading bot, and I thought, ‘It’s a bot, it will handle everything, so I can just sit and watch.’ That’s how he explained it to me.
I still remember buying $AVAX and $ZEC at the all-time high 😄
I was wrong.
The bot was a DCA system. It needed significant capital to function properly, and more importantly, it needed someone who understood the market.
I didn't. I made $15–$20 in profit, felt like a genius then the market crashed, the bot failed, and the gains were gone.
I could have walked away. Instead, I started asking questions.
🔸What went wrong?
🔸How did that bot actually work?
🔸What is DCA?
🔸What does the market actually do and why?
That one bad experience sent me down a three-year of learning. Slowly, I reverse-engineered how that bot worked. I understood it was essentially placing limit orders and averaging down ,simple in theory, but dangerous without market knowledge and emotional discipline.
But the losses didn't stop there.
I went through an airdrop hunting phase wasted months chasing projects that turned out to be scams. Time gone. No gains.
Then came the revenge trading phase , the most painful one. Emotions took over. I'd lose a trade and immediately jump back in trying to recover it. That's how accounts get wiped. I learned that lesson the hard way.
I spent years watching YouTube strategies, adding indicator after indicator until my charts looked like abstract art and meant nothing.
The real problem was never the strategy, it was emotional control. Fear, greed, and revenge are the three things that will destroy your account faster than any bad trade.
I'm not a full-time trader. I have a job, family responsibilities, and limited time , so I play more of an investor role. But that shift in perspective also taught me patience, which most traders never learn.
Eventually, I connected with experienced people in the space, absorbed their thinking, and slowly built my own approach , one that fits my lifestyle and risk tolerance.
That's when I started my X profile and began creating educational content.
I remembered exactly how it felt to walk into this space blind and get burned. Nobody warned me. Nobody explained the basics. And that silence is what gets beginners hurt every single day.
The crypto space is full of noise, people hyping coins, promising returns, selling dreams. Very few are talking about the fundamentals. I decided to be one of the people who does.
If you're reading this and your story sounds familiar the excitement, the loss, the confusion, the emotional rollercoaster, you're not alone. Most of us started exactly the same way.
The difference between those who make it and those who don't isn't luck. It's knowledge, patience, and the decision to never stop learning.
That's why I'm still here. That's why I keep writing.
Thanks for reading this and for sharing your experience, this story will motivate someone.
