In relation to intercultural and indigenous relations and reconciliation, I hope to join in listening to more voices and work with more people to strive together for a stronger community.
#voices - Strive vs Strife - In linguistics (e.g. the IPA) we cover voiced consonants (e.g. v) and unvoiced consonants (e.g. f). As people are given voices to speak and act, we can STRIVE together; as people have their voices taken away, we have STRIFE to suffer.
#teamwork - As the Student Services Office (SSO) grew over the last 2 weeks, we can build larger teams for larger projects like Community Mapping. SSO now works with 4 Student Workers, but also 3 UBC Teacher Candidates, 2 Canada Summer Jobs Students, and 1 new Staff. #growing
