While, hopefully it leads to greater regulation of the tech industry, you really can’t blame people for feeling this way. Many are now coming to the realization that we’re the product and corporations are the consumer.
These are the types of views I was referencing in my @semafor interview. This is an extremely myopic worldview and it makes me sad that so many people feel this way, especially about technology. My question is basically where does this belief system lead?
"I think that a lot of the people on the left do not believe in a tech forward future."
@TaylorLorenz talks to @maxwelltani and @semaforben about the AI data center backlash.
@shannonrwatts You still haven’t responded to anyone’s questions about how you feel about Destiny currently under litigation for CSAM and revenge porn.
@ndqw189410 I’m very well versed in the definition of genocide and its creation in the aftermath of WWII. The “they haven’t killed everyone” denial is simply ignorant of the fact the definition says “in whole or in part” on a series of actions which, most of which Israel has committed.
If a leftist wins the nomination, then he and his supporters need to make the case to moderates that he is more moderate than his GOP opponent. It’s a winnable argument but you need to engage with it and do things to persuade people.
Joy Reid does an excellent job at discussing why the meeting between Jeffries and Kushner is more problematic than Mamdani meeting with Trump. https://t.co/XdIelSL3dP
They may be more left on social issues, but when it comes to the wide sweeping economic and environmental changes needed in this country, aren’t much different.
I get that leftists find this asymmetry annoying but they repeatedly fail to even acknowledge it — the case for a leftist voting for a moderate Dem is that all moderate Dems are more left-wing than their GOP opponents and they don’t need to say or do anything to prove that.
Cool. What about the other two branches? Yes, I’m aware they would need a constitution amendment. But we shouldn’t be making 80 year olds beg for jobs.
@Bellerophonfall@TheOmniLiberal And they did not fight against liberal democracy, they were a part of it. They had elected representatives in the reichstag. Hitler’s fascist goons went after them before he came into power because he knew they were a threat.
