The Australian Merino Production Trial - Meat Trial wether lambs prior to processing today at Fletcher International Exports.
For the past 8 weeks the 15 lambs representing 50 teams from across Aust have averaged 260 G/HD/Day in one of the nation’s largest commercial feedlots.

AMPT 2023-2025 Wool trial wether lambs enjoying a sunny winters day. Their 750 brothers in the Meat trial are currently at Kiargathur Station feedlot and will be processed at Fletcher International Exports in Dubbo on the 8th August, looking forward to seeing them on the rail.

The 5 teams from Tasmania have arrived fit and well to get benchmarked in the Australian Merino Production Trial 2023- 2025.
The trial will start with an even up shearing in the 3rd week of April so still time to enter. The current trial has just shown huge ranges in net profit.

Hard to believe there is 35 different teams of wethers representing a wide range of Merino bloodlines. It’s amazing how similar they look expecting to measure 100% range in fleece value.

Historically the top teams of wethers when shorn have averaged over 8kg of greasy wool at under 18 micron at around 65kg live weight.
