@Scotchardson @Lucas61507851 @Know Multiplication and division are given the same priority, hence they are done at the same time as you come across them from left to right. PEMDAS is just an acronym so you remember the overall order. M and D are done at the same time just like A and S.

@Lucas61507851 @Know No that is incorrect. When you follow order of operations the parenthesis step is only what goes on inside the parenthesis. What you are suggesting is in the multiplication step. In order of operations multiplication and division are done simultaneously going left to right.

@Know But I will say that this is a poorly phrased math question. It’s suppose to be a trick question because of how ambiguous the equation is. I could see how it could be 1 but written out the way it is then it is most likely 9.
