@Mitch_Centers and I finally met in person last weekend!
Last week, he flew to Taiwan, the 3rd stop in his digital nomad journey.
This was actually my first time showing a foreigner around Taiwan.
Such a fun and refreshing experience.
@menghsueh_lin I had a great time! It was an absolute pleasure to meet up with you and have you show me around the city. Really liked the dumplings!
Next time see in Ohio! ๐
๐ตIt's fun to work with the Y-M-C-A ๐ตLast year, I ran with YMCA of the North to lift up their product, Virtual Y, in an explainer format. Steven Schweickert spun the illustrations to bring this to life, while Nathan Hippenmeyer brought voice to the teamwork.
Thank you so much for following me! Im grateful for your continued support as I push myself with new styles and new friends. Iโm on a journey in this freelance world and Iโm happy youโre along to follow my progress. Have a great holiday to those who celebrate!
๐ท Hot take: I like using AI in animation. If you struggle with expression coding like I do, I've got a quick AE tip for you. It will feel like cheating, but it helps me animate faster and enhances my understanding of expressions.
Hand drawn animation is some of the most time-intensive and rewarding art I make ๐๏ธ
This is what it takes to bring it from my brain to your eyes! All of this work was created using Procreate (not Dreams yet) and After Effects for compositing.

Here's an animation I made for you if you have a moment. It's a technique called 4-7-8 breathing. 4 seconds to breathe through your nose. 7 seconds of holding. 8 seconds to slowly breathe out of your mouth. Let it help you relax before you dive back into your feed.
Can you afford to take a breath today? I recently discovered I struggle with anxiety. It can make me freeze up and zone out when I'm overwhelmed with thoughts. When I sense those feelings rising, I like to gently remind myself to be in the moment...
Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year's theme is "It is time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace." I think we can agree that much stress comes while working. We need to be kinder to ourselves. Take breaks. And avoid burnout.
๐ฅI have a secret to show you๐ฅ
When I'm working on a new project, an important part of the collaborative process begins just after the script is finalized. Storyboards!
At this stage, I work with the client to figure out what we need to show on screen and discover the creative presentation that happens with it. It's a great opportunity to find fun transitions. Once agreed upon, the storyboard becomes the blueprint for what we animate.
Motion designers get in the nitty gritty of how frames move, but how about the bigger picture within the industry? My good friend Kyle Harter's Everyday Motion Podcast takes a cool hour to talk with designers from every facet of the industry. https://t.co/P8nzQislEy

Summer is wrapping up and I've been lucky to have TONS of work with new and existing clients. One recent project was an explainer video with Studio Say So for the Orlando Utilities Commission.
Another logo animation that was part of my Huffy series ๐ฒ They were awesome to work with!
When I was given the task to build this intro, it had to encompass all the fun and elegance of Huffy bikes. I took a playful โspinโ on speed and form to bring in the logo.
