It’s HOT Outside! But, remember : HVAC companies are required by code to design your HVAC System to maintain 75F at 50% Relative Humidity inside your home when it is 91F outside. No more. No less. YES - It does get warmer than 91F outside. YES - some people like it colder than 75 inside their homes. But we are required by law to limit that outdoor temperature to 91F for our ACCA Manual J Load Calculations for this area; and go no lower that 75F inside your home. (State Mechanical Code Section 312, ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 183, ACCA Manual J, ACCA Manual S, etc.) So, if it is 95F for a few hours one day, your HVAC System may not maintain 75F inside. It’s not designed to do any more or less. By law. However, if you like your home to be 68F, regardless of the outdoor temperature, we can still offer you a system that will satisfy your demands. It can only be done via a 2 Stage Compressor or Variable Refrigerant Flow Compressor system that is considered oversized. Therefore, if your single stage HVAC System is maintaining 75F on these 94 Degree and 95 Degree days, then your HVAC System may be just fine. If your single stage HVAC System will maintain 68F inside when it is 95 Degrees outside, then your system is not sized correctly and you need to have it evaluated; as moisture control is going to be an issue.
