After the vines are pruned, our tying crews then step in to tie young and old vines alike. We used sisal twine for all our tying endeavors this year.
Tying is done by hand every year, and it’s important for training new vines and maintaining vine structure into vine maturity.

The wild mustard plant, thrives where there is low moisture by outcompeting other species.
Individual plants can separate from the ground and become tumbleweeds. These plants can travel long distances, bouncing over the ground and then get caught in our trellises.

As we plant our oak trees, we take a moment to appreciate and admire the old and sturdy #nativewhiteoak trees that scatter the landscape. This species can live for up to 900 years and is perfectly adapted for this climate.
