Pete Hoekstra: "As the president's representative to Canada, I present the president's views, the United States' views to Canada. Mechanically, I don't do all the reposting and retweeting myself. My understanding is we repost 100% of the president's tweets that deal with Canada."
Never thought I'd post this…but here we go…
All I ever wanted to be was a journalist, but after 21 years I’ve filed my final story.
I’m choosing to take a stand for Alberta & Canada.
I'll share more soon, but for now, thanks to everyone who follows & supports my work!
Alberta Needs Stability - Not Political Gamesmanship
After years of fueling separatist rhetoric, weakening institutions, lowering referendum thresholds, and pushing constitutional conflict, the UCP suddenly wants Albertans to believe they are federalists.
It’s simply not credible.
You cannot spend years feeding division and then distance yourself from it once the political winds shift.
Albertans are frustrated and many of those frustrations are legitimate. But frustration with Ottawa is not the same thing as putting national unity, investment confidence, and Alberta’s stability at risk.
This government has spent years trying to speak to federalists and separatists at the same time.
And now the contradictions are catching up with them.
Alberta can be strong without being isolated.
We can stand up for Alberta while still respecting institutions, the rule of law, and the long-term stability this province depends on.
That’s the conversation we should actually be having.
Take a listen.

Danielle Smith created the problem she’s now championing to solve. Why did Kenney’s Act make it harder to put Canadian unity on a ballot? Because he cares about his province and country.
Danielle made it easier.
Smith’s actions speak far louder than her words.

For every Ottawa commentator who spent the week calling Danielle Smith a separatist, she just spent the last couple hours passionately and intelligently defending Alberta’s place in Canada to thousands of Albertans on a telephone town hall.
Danielle has been clear: Alberta can work in Canada. A little less elitist scorn from the East would help.
Today, we launched Alberta’s Voice
This referendum is about more than separation.
All ten questions ask whether Alberta remains part of the Canadian experience.
We believe in Canada. We believe in immigrants. We believe in the Constitution.
No to the Nine. Stay in Canada.
Alberta Conservatives under Premier Smith are a public health threat. They care about their ideological extreme and the wealthy few. They don't stand up for average people. ER triage liaison MDs could have been set up in 2 weeks if they cared.

PM Carney tells immigrants to leave behind the feuds of their homelands:
"We don't welcome the world's hatreds"
"When you come to Canada you bring your faith, your tradition, your language, your story - you leave behind your animosities"
In an era when objective truth is a nice-to-have and the bar for politicians is in the depths of hell, it’s helpful to have someone like Rosemary Barton in the mix. For more than two decades, Barton, currently the CBC’s chief political correspondent, has chatted with, fact-checked and, when the occasion merits it, borderline interrogated the country’s most consequential public figures. Lately, thanks to some unusually exciting policy shifts under our refreshingly boring new prime minister, Canada’s newsmakers are commanding global headlines. But first, they’ll probably pop up on Rosemary Barton Live.
And yet, as any journalist will attest, her job has never been harder. If politicians would prefer to sidestep tough inquiries, The Joe Rogan Experience and Call Her Daddy offer warmer, cushier landings. But as this country embarks on a 360-degree nation-building makeover, Canadians have more questions than ever. Barton is doing her best to get answers—no filler.

Imagine if a woman president crashed the economy and started a war with no end in sight, and her biggest, seemingly ONLY concern was building a ballroom and redecorating the White House.
