Every July, we gather to give thanks for the waters that sustain all life.
This photograph shows my calpulli making offerings to Chalchiuhtlicue, Lady of the Jade Skirt, during Tecuilhuitontli, the Nahua Moon dedicated to the waters of rivers, springs, lakes, and rain. Art, ceremony, and community come together in a single act of gratitude.
