I think Shadow’s character is heavily misunderstood.

He was never supposed to be “Vegeta 2.0” or some constantly angry edgelord.

SA2, Heroes, and 06 portrayed Shadow as:
quiet, introspective, emotionally restrained, and ultimately kind-hearted underneath his trauma.

His anger came FROM tragedy.
It wasn’t his entire personality.

But after Shadow 05, it feels like Sega leaned too hard into:
“antisocial rival”
“brooding tough guy”
“always angry at Sonic”

And I honestly think that misses the point of who Shadow really is.

Shadow isn’t evil.
He’s wounded.
There’s a difference.
