@sir_yaquup81969 Believe it or not, #Somaliland was part of this year's Youth Model African Union (YMAU), and they're even taking part in the 'AU Youth Pre-Summit' this week.

STATEHOOD IS BUILT AT HOME, NOT CLAIMED ABROAD!!
Somalia’s one-month tenure as Chair of the United Nations Security Council did not reshape international politics, nor did it affect the question of the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland by the State of Israel.
ROTATIONAL TITLES DO NOT CREATE INFLUENCE, LEGITIMACY, OR STABILITY!!
Likewise, Somalia’s recent seat on the African Union Peace and Security Council will not alter Somaliland’s recognition trajectory. Our case rests on history, law, democratic legitimacy, and the sovereign will of our people; not on rhetoric or symbolic positions.
Statehood is not measured by attendance in international chambers while lawlessness, lack of peace and instability persists at your home.
Statehood and a functioning government are defined by peace, security, strong institutions, accountable leadership, and public trust.
True sovereignty is built on peace, territorial control, functioning institutions, democratic elections, and the confidence of your citizens.
That is the clear distinction between the Republic of Somaliland and Somalia.
Somaliland continues to grow stronger, united at home, respected abroad, and unwavering in its sovereign path.
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF SOMALILAND
Within the span of a single year, the Republic of Somaliland successfully secured participation in, and the President of the Republic of Somaliland delivered keynote addresses and presentations at, two of the world’s most prominent international platforms.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland was officially invited twice to the World Governments Summit and most recently to Davos, reflecting a significant enhancement of Somaliland’s international visibility, political credibility, and recognition of its role in global affairs.
Mogadishu's favourite talking point is that Somaliland is Isaq dominated and a single clan cannot become a nation-state.
Reality is that Somaliland is a multi-clan state and has historically done more to become more inclusive than any Somali polity in the Horn.
The Isaq are the dominant clan because of demography not because they 'own' the state.
The Isaq were the central force that drove Somaliland's war of liberation, helped reclaim its independence and contributed to its state-building.
Those who demonise the Isaq conveniently forget the clan's contribution to build a democratic state, inclusive and pluralistic society.
The notion Somaliland is single clan aristocracy is a caricature
Dahir Riyale Kahin (Somaliland's 3rd President) was a Gadabursi from Awdal and not an Isaq.
If it did that when it was a young democracy it surely could do the same now.
Look at every Somali polity and show me one single Somali state whose early state building was not driven by a 'central clan' with demographic weight, military muscle, ability to out-coerce and exert control.
The beauty of Somaliland is that it is on the right path towards becoming a strong constitutional democracy one which prioritises and privileges citizenship over clan.
Ask Balcad and Mogadishu if a Hamari, a Jareer/Bantu Somali can become president.
Zero chance. 😇
Recognition late last year of Somaliland as a sovereign state, first by Israel, was decades in the making. But it is a significant development that I hope will draw increased attention in Washington to the resource-rich land. Recognition by a close U.S. partner underscores Somaliland’s more than 30 years of effective self-governance and relative stability in a volatile region. Given its strategic location along the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, its openness to security cooperation along with its wealth of gemstones, precious metals, industrial minerals and energy sources, Somaliland presents a compelling case for deeper U.S. engagement.

@abino11 The difference between Egypt and ethiopia is Egypt knows its friends and political enemies. Egypt is allies with somalia, eritrea and djibouti in the horn. Egypt is fighting somaliland recognition because it believes it benefits ethiopia. I cannot say the same about etheiopia.
THIS IS REAL MEDIA!!!
This is Avi Yemini (@OzraeliAvi) of Rebel Media with a five-minute introduction to his exposé from Somaliland, following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as an independent state.
This is exactly the kind of journalism that matters. Serious, meaningful, geopolitically relevant, and completely ignored by mainstream media.
Avi consistently goes where others won’t and covers stories others won’t touch. I’ll be following his journey through Somaliland closely, and I recommend you do the same.
Follow Avi Yemini.
Follow Rebel Media.
And watch this space.

The Hassan Sheikh government in Mogadishu on same disastrous path of past dictatorships.
After proclaiming bad faith dialogue with opposition, it is returning to the Farmaajo playbook of weaponising aviation.
Today it directly endangered lives of opposition delegates coming to Mogadishu for a confrerence by ordering flights from Kismayo and Garowe to turn back mid-way through journey.
Somalian president begging colonial plantation owners to come back is one of the most humiliating statements ever made by an African leader.
This is what cotton plantations in Somalia looked like.
Somalian women were forced to work under strict supervision by Italian owners.
Somaliland’s Recognition: The end of a dangerous ideology and the beginning of Regional Realism
The recognition of the Republic of by the State of Israel is an irreversible and historic reality. It marks the definitive end of the so-called ‘Greater Somalia’ project and the illusion of Somali unity; an ideology that for more than seventy-five years was built on ethnic absolutism, political delusion, and exclusionary nationalism.
The 'Greater Somalia’ project has been directly responsible for prolonged instability in the region, fragmentation, bloodshed, human suffering, and developmental stagnation affecting the peoples of the Horn of Africa, particularly communities of Somali origin.
Somaliland’s recognition represents not only the correction of a historical injustice, but also a pragmatic realignment with contemporary geopolitical realities, prioritizing peace and stability, self-determination, and constructive regional engagement over failed ideologies of the past.
To put it in a nutshell, the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland is an irreversible turning point and the end of a dangerous fantasy project: "Somali-Weyn”!!
@Huseindeyr
"Everything you see is true."
This is not a fictitious tale.
Its a real life story that actually took place in Somalia Italiana during a time when 220,000 Italians lived in Somalia.
Here is the famous French explorer Henry de Monfreid providing commentary on the authenticity of the film.
