Jesus christ. I think I need to turn to alcohol or drugs or therapy or SOMETHING. I had seen the AMOC overturning warnings, but I had not seen this graph. I though somehow mostly the North Atlantic and Europe would be affected, but no, it's global boiling.

Wow.
The NY Times obtained video of over 400 meetings held by a group of well-connected & well-funded lawyers, activists and GOP officials who’ve been meeting for years to methodically plan how to overturn this election when Trump loses.

Remember when @elonmusk, who knows nothing about Ukraine, suggested a peace plan for Ukraine and people wanted it to be taken seriously because wow rockets?
And remember how anyone who knows anything called it a Kremlin wishlist?
The Western world is still trying to come up with excuses for why they don’t need to treat the war seriously. They say things like “but I dont wanna” and “but, moooooom” while the rest of the world sees the importance and is pushing to achieve their own victory over us. The consequences could be disastrous, have decades of unpredictable fallout, cost trillions of dollars to remedy, and lead to uncontrollable chaos. And yet, the west still curls in a ball whining about how they don’t feel like it.
According to Yonhap news agency, North Korea has sent 12,000 troops, including special forces, to support Russia’s war in Ukraine, per their source in South Korea’s Intelligence. This aligns with an earlier statement from Ukraine's military intelligence (GUR).
If accurate, this means nearly a corps-sized force from North Korea is aiding Russia in its invasion of a European country.
Meanwhile, on October 16, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his willingness to discuss a "just peace" in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This not only appears weak but also reinforces Putin's belief that Western leadership is too divided and fragile to sustain a united front for the long haul.
After all, both Europe and the U.S. have poured substantial resources into this war, depleting their weapon and ammunition stocks. From Russia’s perspective, its successes on the battlefield aren't just victories over Ukraine but over the combined economies and production capacities of the West.
Some may argue that Russia turning to North Korea shows how desperate its situation is. Perhaps it does, but the fact remains: Russia is finding new sources of manpower.
And who is stepping up for Ukraine? While Russia pulls in thousands of troops from North Korea, Ukraine is asked to mobilize its smallest demographic, sacrificing its future, while Western nations debate whether they should contribute even a fraction of their GDP.
U.S. foreign policy is somewhat paralyzed by the upcoming elections, and much of Europe remains inactive, ignoring the fact that North Korean soldiers are about to fight in a European war.
They rationalize it away - it's not an EU country, not a NATO member, not our problem.
French President Macron once talked about sending troops to Ukraine, but it never moved beyond words. Meanwhile, Kim Jong-un made no announcements - he simply sent a corps-sized force to help Russia.
China is watching. Iran is watching. The Global South is watching. And what do they see? They see a U.S. too focused on internal political discord and even a failure protect its own interests in the Strait of Aden, despite being the world's sole naval guarantor of secure trade. I am not even talking about Europe which is even more interested in that. At the same time, European leaders like Scholz are pursuing peace with Putin out of a reluctance to stand for their values or security interests
If you can't see how this weakness will reshape the global security landscape, and if North Korean soldiers in Europe aren't enough of a wake-up call, then I doubt anything will make the West to act, even to protect itself.
A terrible story: in August the Russians poisoned the Seym river, just across the border from Ukraine. Toxic chemicals went downstream killing everything: fish, molluscs, crayfish, weed. For 650kms, the Seym and Desna rivers are dead. Photos: @AlessioMamo https://t.co/2BsUCIXQJD
I’ve never finished a film and *immediately* thought what will I watch now? I loathe how streaming services won’t let you just sit with the ending and the music and credits and reflect on what you just watched, they’re just always ramming the next ‘content’ down your throat.
The press is "sane washing" Donald Trump. In an attempt to tip-toe around insulting his fans and to summarize the disjointed mess that is his brain, they turn his insanity into policy that he's never actually proposed https://t.co/v4rwQ17yYd
Så det Vance siger er, at Rusland skal have lov at beholde det land, de har besat. Og at Ukraine ikke skal have nogen garantier mod, at russerne kan invadere igen og tage resten af landet, når de har genopbygget deres militær.
U.S. Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance commented on Trump's "peace plan" for Ukraine.
"So I think it goes like this: Trump sits down, says to the Russians, to the Ukrainians, to the Europeans, you guys need to figure out what a peaceful settlement looks like. And it will probably look roughly the same as the current dividing line between Russia and Ukraine. It will become like a demilitarized zone. It will be strongly fortified so that the Russians do not invade again. Ukraine retains its independent sovereignty. Russia receives a guarantee of neutrality from Ukraine, it does not join NATO, it does not join any allied institutions."
So much for Trump's "I'll end the war in 24 hours" plan.
“Escalation management”. Noun.
Allowing a nation with nukes to butcher a neighbour without nukes so as to reduce risk of nuclear war, thus driving others to seek nukes lest they be subject to a future “escalation management”.
Israel receives the 500th US airlift in 325 days, delivering ammunition, armaments, armored vehicles, protective equipment & more for the IDF to continue its war of extermination
Remember when Biden said in May he'd stop sending bombs to Israel if it launches a Rafah invasion?😅
@rrphillip Mikroplast er det nye bly, bare 100 x værre, fordi det er overalt.
