Ruto promised Kenyans that he would never increase taxes. Yet today, Kenyans are being hit with new taxes, higher charges and an ever-expanding cost of doing business.

The government keeps telling us about economic growth, but the ordinary Kenyan is asking a much simpler question: Where are the jobs? Where are the opportunities? Where is the money in our pockets?

An economy cannot be said to be transforming when the government keeps reaching deeper into the pockets of struggling citizens while businesses are squeezed, young people remain without decent opportunities and the cost of living keeps rising.

You cannot tax Kenyans into prosperity. You create prosperity by creating jobs, supporting businesses, lowering the cost of production and putting more money into people's pockets.

Ruto promised lower taxes and more opportunities. Kenyans deserve to know why they are getting the opposite.
