Caine Jordan, Guy Emerson Mount, and Kai Perry Parker in “A disgrace to all slave-holders”: The University of Chicago’s Founding Ties to Slavery and the Path to Reparations. #AuburnWorldHistory
#AuburnWorldHistory “If the nation-state in miniature that is the University of Chicago can find the strength to transform itself, perhaps the nation as a whole can find the strength to do so as well.” What a strong and powerful quote that is relevant today written by
“Douglas looked brutality in the face —a brutality that made him rich and he did nothing.” There are so many people today just like Douglas who look brutality in the face but they don’t care as long as they are getting richer. #AuburnWorldHistory
@madelinegracer3 I didn’t know the University of Chicago’s past either. It makes me wonder what other institutions were built off of slave labor. #AuburnWorldHistory
#AuburnWorldHistory “You can look at a map of the world and watch the crisis tendencies move around. Thinking about neoliberalism is helpful to understanding these tendencies.”
#AuburnWorldHistory “To me this is what neoliberalism was about: it was that political project, and I think the bourgeoisie or the corporate capitalist class put it into motion bit by bit.”
@laurenbhart I also never really knew what neoliberalism meant before reading this interview. It defiantly broadened my understanding of neoliberalism. #AuburnWorldHistory
#AuburnWorldHistory The author talked with “industrialists, pilots, engineers, generals, and just the plain man-on-the-street” who had seen UFOs, but why are reports rarely seen of ordinary people sighting UFOs?
#AuburnWorldHistory “What constitutes proof? Does a UFO have to land at the River Entrance to the Pentagon, near the Joint Chiefs of Staff offices? Or is it proof when a ground radar station detects a UFO, sends a jet to intercept it...”
@troutt_tanner I agree, it would be great for the public to know all the information about UFO’s which could help eliminate some misinformation that people have on them. #AuburnWorldHistory
“The report has been difficult to write because it involves something that doesn't officially exist.” Does it exist but everyday people are not being told about it? Why would someone write a full report on UFO’s but only to say they don’t officially exist?

I chose to profile Sgt. Mann because he is my father. My father has been a game warden all my life and I have had the privilege to see firsthand all the work he puts in to help conserve our natural resources for this generation and future generations. #conservationhero
My #ConservationHero is Sgt. Keith Mann who works for the Enforcement Section of the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries. He is also a Federal Wildlife Officer with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He is 54 years old and resides in Macon County, Alabama.
It is time for another issue of #ConservationHero from the @ausfws Wildlife Conservation History and Law class. Students will be profiling conservation and environmental professionals and their incredible impacts on wildlife and society. Watch for their updates!
I was drawn to chose him as my #conservationhero because I have been directly impacted by his conservation efforts. I’ve been able to enjoy hunting in this area because he has helped eliminate some unethical hunters leaving more wildlife available for ethical hunters.

“Could my grandmother’s memory of the Nakba bolster the false narrative that Palestinians voluntarily left, given that her family had not been physically removed from their home?” I’m curious to see how others would answer this question. #AuburnWorldHistory
