Will your future JK or SK child be riding a school bus this fall? Come on out and practice riding a school bus together. Your child will learn bus safety tips and gain confidence in boarding and exiting the bus.
‼️NOTE‼️ To keep student information safe, we are changing the way we communicate elementary students’ home classrooms for September 2018. Class lists will not be posted on windows or doors of your child’s school. Class information will be shared through School-Day in August.
If you can't change it, change how you think about it. Join us for 'Jump Back July' and discover ways to be more resilient to life's ups and downs ☔️🌤️ https://t.co/k2MqPFVTHa #JumpBackJuly
Goodbyes are so hard. Especially when you have to say goodbye to wonderful people! We hope Mlle Passarelli and Ms Henkel will be back in the Sheppard family but we know Mme O will be back in a year and Mlle Wagner will return after her time with baby #2! Even Freddy shed a tear!
Just another typical day at Sheppard - a fun dance off between our beloved departing teachers, Mle Passarelli and Ms Henkel. Looks like Mr Shortt just couldn’t resist the spotlight though!
Students have been going bananas all week in preparation for our fantastic trip to Go Bananas! I am so impressed with their energy, determination, and perseverance! Many overcame their fears today too! Thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers! 👍 @gobananaskw@shewrdsb
Check out this great coverage of our Heart Garden by CBC KW. Thanks CBC KW for joining us on this special day @Caringsociety@cblackst https://t.co/0rREFv51kO
Here are some of the wonderful structures that students completed today! It was very challenging but they didn't give up, they kept trying, and they did it! 👍
Today, as part of #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay we planted a Heart Garden. Each heart represents the memory of a child lost to the Residential School System and the act of planting represents our personal commitment to Reconciliation. @Caringsociety@cblackst#IndigenousWRDSB
Throughout the year we infuse our learning with awareness of Indigenous history, culture and rights. From learning about Treaties to ordering literature that features First Nations children...Reconciliation takes place through many small acts every day #IndigenousWRDSB
At Sheppard we begin each day with a territorial acknowledgement. It is one small act of Reconciliation that is not an end in itself but a way to develop awareness of Indigenous presence and land rights in everyday life. #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay#IndigenousWRDSB
Room 5 is building with real miniature bricks and mortar! It's been a great challenge working in pairs, using a new materials, following directions, looking for details, building a strong structure, and having fun! There's been so much growth in these students over the year!
Room 5 has been making music! Here are some of our castanets made from cardboard and kombucha bottle caps. Students enjoyed playing rhythms with them. Everyone sounded great playing together!
Tomorrow is Our Canada Day Playday. Come to school ready for some fun events and wear red and white if you can! Remember to wear a hat and sun protection. It’s going to be a fun day at Sheppard!
