@heymrsbond I use “Incomplete” for assignments that don’t have a grade. I started this a few years ago. The problem I have with zero as a placeholder is that it affects the overall grade, but isn’t an accurate reflection of knowledge or work. #IncompleteNotZero

@WLClassroom I agree. But we will adapt. I plan on doing speaking in virtual classes as well, so they do see and hear, at least some of the time.

@kasal_finley I had some issues with students having their friends “Zoom bomb”. I started doing 2 things. 1. They had to use their first and last name to check in. 2. They had to turn on their camera so I could verify who it was. This year I will allow them to turn it off once I verify.

@maritstiles This depends on whether distancing is happening in the classroom. In my district, in-person classes will be smaller because we are mandated to have desks 6 feet apart.

Hey, #langchat: planning for hybrid classes, Spanish 2 and French 4. I’m debating which skills to focus on in person v virtual. First instinct is speaking and little to no computer work in person. But with desks 6 feet apart, maybe speaking is better virtual? Your thoughts?

I don’t think we can argue that sports opportunities have increase for all students but to keep 8 million kids from experiencing sports in HS is the problem no one can find a solution for except to say “The data will tell us what to do”. @NYGovCuomo The data is saying PLAY!!
