OUR LADY, QUEEN OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY

Friends, today we celebrate Our Lady, Queen of the most Holy Rosary, a title that reminds us of the powerful intercession of Mary and the simplicity of a prayer that has shaped the faith of generations.

When we hold the rosary in our hands, we hold more than a string of beads; we hold a spiritual weapon, a chain of grace, and a summary of the Gospel. Each “Hail Mary” draws us closer to the most Sacred heart of Jesus, seen through the eyes of His Mother.

The origin of this devotion dates back to St. Dominic in the 13th century, who received the rosary from Our Lady as a powerful means to combat heresy and renew the faith. Since then, countless saints, from St. Louis Marie de Montfort to St. Padre Pio, have testified to its power. They calls it “the weapon for our times.”

Our Lady’s title as “Queen of the Most Holy Rosary” was solemnly affirmed after the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, when Christian forces, against all odds, triumphed after the faithful prayed the rosary across Europe. Pope St. Pius V attributed that victory to Mary’s intercession. It remains a living reminder that prayer can change history, families, hearts and nations.

Friends, the Holy rosary is not a mechanical repetition; it is a contemplative journey into the life of Jesus, His joys, His sorrows, His glories, and His light. As Pope St. John Paul II said, “To recite the rosary is nothing other than to contemplate with Mary the face of Christ.”

Each decade carries with it the heartbeat of the Gospel, from the angel’s greeting at Nazareth to the crown of glory in heaven. Through Mary’s eyes, we see what love looks like when it is obedient, patient, and pure.

In a world filled with noise, the rosary teaches silence.
In a world filled with anxiety, it teaches peace.
In a world chasing meaning, it teaches presence, to gaze upon Christ who once walked the earth and now reigns in glory.

Let us pray the rosary daily, not just as a devotion, but as a way of life, to meditate, to intercede, to grow and to trust.
