The book itself was originally only printed as hardcover as Ende wanted the book to look as close to the book that Bastion steals #conformitygate

the book The Neverending Story by Michael Ende is pretty different than the American film. In the second half, Bastion begins taking over Fantastica using his wishes & as he does he loses his memories. That part about him creating the dragon is interesting #conformitygate

Original book was printed with two colors of text, red & green. Green=the storylines in the human world. Red=the storylines in Fantastica. The illustration at the beginning of each chapter used both colors intertwining both worlds #conformitygate
