IMO one of the top 3 power bats returning to the county next spring. Consistently exit velos 100+ and been obliterating baseballs since the fall.
Churchill’s lineup is going to hurt teams in 2027. Beware the Bulldogs.
‘27 Brayden Reiner (Winston Churchill) - @DMVProspectsBSB
Walks it off with a 2 run 💣 for the win. Crushes the 2nd pitch for an absolute moonshot of a no doubter.
@PrepBaseballMD#PBESOpen#MD7
Having an elite catcher is a pitcher's best friend and vital to a deep playoff run. Jagannathan caught 10 playoff games the past two years going 10-0. Executed his role to perfection. Result: Warriors allowed only 11 runs total in its B2B state title runs.
Had an awesome season with @Woodbaseball1. Made a great stop in the state semis. Final stats:
Catching
- Innings Caught 112.1
- Passed Balls 0
Hitting
-Playoffs Avg 500
Full Season
- Avg 390
- Hits 23
- RBI 19

⬇️The guys who tend to immediately contribute in P4 D1 are so good in high school they are in their own stratosphere even compared to other D1 commits. Chris Hacopian & Henry Zatkowski two of the obvious. Folks who remember watching those two knew without a doubt they’d make it.
I get college lists each year for all of our guys. Sometimes I look, and just laugh, and clearly, they are not following along or haven’t been paying attention.
Here’s a UVA (previously a Duke commit)
Do you have the physicality of this player? Do your numbers resemble this (against WCAC level competition?)
Congrats to everyone on a great season! Always goes by too quickly.
As always at this time of year, the way-too-early 2027 MoCo power rankings to come. Saying it now, we could definitely see a change of guard in a few regions. Stay tuned tomorrow evening!
Lastly want to highlight Ryan Zanni specifically. An inspiration to any player out there.
Relatively unknown one year ago but waited his turn, and capitalized on his opportunity. Best MoCo pitcher from start to end in 2026. Sherwood doesn't win the title without him.
@ryanzanni5
The core of Ryan Zanni, Lee Gisriel, Colton McCarthy, and Charlie Crismond had as good of a display of command these playoffs you will ever see.
These dudes threw 458 pitches these playoffs and walked a grand total of SIX. This will get you further than anything on a radar gun
Cannot give the Sherwood coaching staff enough credit for pitching development especially. Graduated pretty much their entire rotation from a year ago and completely revamped the rotation this year.
Sherwood surrendered only 5 runs in 5 playoff games this year. Pitching wins 💍
Massive credit to Decatur. Truly lived up to the hype. Battled till the end on all fronts. Unbelievable team and fanbase. Few care about their program as much as this one and it’s evident clearly. This won’t be the last time they’re back for certain.
Threepeat in 4A (2021-2023) followed by back to back in 3A (2025-2026). Folks, appreciate the absurdity of this greatness. You will never see another run like this in this lifetime.
🚨 BALLGAME: THE DYNASTY CONTINUES 🚨
Sherwood is once again the 👑 of public school baseball, defeating Stephen Decatur 2-1 to win the Class 3A state title once again❗️
For Sherwood, this is now FIVE state titles in 6 years and their 7th all-time 🏆

One team this year played both Decatur and Sherwood: Parkside. I reached out to people in the program on their take on the game - one got back with their thoughts.
And the preview… less of a pure stats comparison and more of a dedication to key players, playing styles, strengths, weaknesses, and external factors that could tip this game one way or the other.
Rain delay would certainly change the discussion as well
Decatur (24-0) vs. Sherwood (22-2)
One of the most anticipated games in recent memory deserves a dedicated breakdown. A bird’s eye view of why this game is so hyped and what both squads are bringing to the 3A State Title in terms of what’s at stake
@BaysideBB_MD
The two projected lineups and pitching staffs side by side. A lot of college commits and seniors on both sides. All division, all conference, all state representation on both teams. Bayside's all conference awards havn't been public yet but can imagine Decatur represents in large
Today’s 38th annual Montgomery County Senior All-Star game has been canceled due to the incoming weather. The field was already soft and a little bit of rain would’ve made it unplayable.
Congratulations again to all those who made this year’s roster. Good luck to the special seniors in their future endeavors.
