@SeewhyChels Jay-Z is a top-five rapper, but nobody ever claimed he was some untouchable, flawless figure. It feels like people exaggerate his greatness just to create a bigger target and tear him down later.
@essexveryown@chartradar_@PorshaDeshannon Rap wasn’t the number-one genre at the time, even though the 1990s are often viewed as its greatest era. The genre didn’t truly reach its commercial peak until the 2010s, by which point Jay-Z had largely stopped releasing music as frequently.
@AngrymanChannel I don’t think Jay-Z is upset about that because he can always fall back on his other accolades. I think he’s just tired of people trying to degrade his legacy.
@Thechat101 When Akademiks first came into the game, people were dissing him left and right. He stayed quiet, and then one day he went on a rant and started acting like some kind of gangster. The irony.
@enlightenone31 Another side note is that Swizz Beatz produced the majority of those three albums, and people tend to say he sucked. That just shows they don’t know what they’re talking about.
