@ashishkjha@acog You helped deprioritize Covid as a health concern during the last administration. Your team knew that most Americans aren’t able to decipher the scientific nuance in your arguments, while they struggle in their day-to-day. Don’t act surprised.
@IcedHoffee@MamaWeasleyy Potentially. We had to check some boxes, and were offered both on a form. The form may not have reflected current availability though, so I’d call them.
@MamaWeasleyy our caregiver was testing weekly at a local PCR spot, with indoor masking. Obv challenging now. Ideas on best at-home tests? Lucira? Thank you!
@MamaWeasleyy Burke, VA is saying late Aug/early Sept. (No obvious reactions on our end except irritability…which could be the onset of the terrible 2s.)
@IanHenriksen@MamaWeasleyy Could they gradually increase the trial participant #s while the study’s under way? Or would anyone who doesn’t make this cut have to wait for prelim findings from this 960 person cohort?
@MamaWeasleyy Just called them (before seeing this). They think they’ll get to everyone by tomorrow. For placebo kids, they’re scheduling vaccines ASAP (they have slots open tomorrow, the day after, etc.)
@MamaWeasleyy Site in VA explained that they need to “receive the EUA”, which they think will likely be over the weekend or early next week. Then they’ll call trial parents in order (that they signed up?)
@GalvinAlmanza@MamaWeasleyy Super excited over here, but messaging like that from the WaPo does confuse most of us. Are they saying we just don’t have the data to know? We originally thought that it meant “no kids were hospitalized”, yay! 2/2
@GalvinAlmanza@MamaWeasleyy “There were no cases of serious illness or hospitalizations in the trial, which included close to 7,000 children 6 months to 5 years old, making it impossible to detect the vaccine’s possible protective effect against the worst outcomes.” 1/2
