H.E. Hassan Moallin Mohamud, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, met with six of the 34 female legal graduates selected for the Justice Sector Internship Programme under the Joint Justice and Corrections Programme (JJCP).
The interns shared reflections from the Ministry's induction and onboarding programme. The Minister commended their commitment and encouraged them to pursue excellence, uphold integrity, and dedicate their legal careers to serving the Somali people.
This initiative reflects MOJCA's commitment to nurturing the next generation of justice professionals and strengthening the rule of law in Somalia.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, @FAdanyare , together with the Director General of @MoIFARSomalia today co-chaired the Governance Transformation Pillar meeting under the National Transformation Plan (NTP).
During the meeting, PS Faysal highlighted the successful completion of Somalia's constitutional review process and outlined key priorities for the implementation of the Constitution, judicial reform and the strengthening of anti-corruption efforts.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, @FAdanyare , today welcomed six Female newly gratuated female selected at the federal level under the Legal Empowerment and Internship Programme for Women in Somalia.
The programme, which will run for 11 months (June 2026 – May 2027), will provide comprehensive training and internship opportunities to 34 female selected from across the country.
This initiative forms part of the Ministry’s and JJCP’s ongoing efforts to implement the 2025–2029 Strategy, aimed at enhancing women’s participation in the justice sector and strengthening their professional competencies and leadership roles.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia @FAdanyare , today chaired the Ministry’s bi-weekly Directors’ Meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Director General for Justice Affairs, Abdinur Hassan Mohamed, the Director General for Constitutional Affairs, Salah Xirie Kheire, alongside Directors of various departments within the Ministry.
The session focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing activities, expediting the implementation of priority work plans, and strengthening inter-departmental coordination to ensure the effective achievement of the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
The Director of Planning Mrs @kafia_naleye at the @MojSomalia participated in a regional workshop on Transitional Justice in the Arab region. The workshop, organized by 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐏 in Amman, Jordon, aimed to strengthen regional understanding, enhance technical capacity, and promote cooperation in addressing cases of missing persons through transitional justice initiatives
Today in Mogadishu, PS @Fadanyare officially opened the Validation Workshop on the Mapping and Capacity Assessment of Privately Run Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centres, commissioned by the Ministry of Justice with support from @UNICEFsomalia.
Joined by Federal Ministries, Benadir Regional Administration, the Somali Police Force, the Custodial Corps, and civil society, the workshop establishes a coordinated national response to protect vulnerable groups, particularly women and children.
Out of 111 mapped facilities, revealing they host over 3,300 individuals, including more than 1,100 children. The data highlights critical gaps in basic safeguarding, oversight, and rights-based standards of care.
"While these privately run centres emerged to fill a vacuum during institutional collapse, evidence shows many are now doing more harm than good, especially for children," PS @Fadanyare stated. "This is our collective opportunity to define a clear pathway for state-led standardization, regulation, and transformation." In strict alignment with Article 36 of the Juvenile Justice Law, the Ministry of Justice remains firmly committed to shielding children from inappropriate institutionalization and guaranteeing safe, protective, and non-custodial alternatives.
Today in Mogadishu, the perment Secretary @Fadanyare opened the Validation Workshop on the Mapping and Capacity Assessment of Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centres across Somalia.
The workshop brought together representatives from Federal Government institutions, Federal Member States, civil society organizations, UNICEF and UNTMIS to review and validate the assessment findings and discuss practical recommendations for strengthening rehabilitation and reintegration services nationwide.
This important exercise will contribute to enhancing coordination, improving service delivery and supporting sustainable reintegration efforts for vulnerable groups across Somalia.
The Minister of Justice H.E. Hassan Sheikh Ali received the National Independent Human Rights Commission to strengthen cooperation on key justice and human rights reforms.

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the FGS , H.E. @HassansheikhAli , today attended the graduation ceremony of 150 students from Haile Barise Technical Development Center in Mogadishu, who successfully completed two years of TVET training in solar PV, construction and mechanical trades. The Minister encouraged the youth to pursue technical and vocational skills as a pathway to employment, self-reliance, and national development.
